The Position
Our Field Services division is currently seeking a Field Services Engineer for our Bay Area office. At Harris & Sloan, Field Engineers act as the liaisons between office design staff and our trade partners in the field.

Job Responsibilities
The Field Services Engineer serves as the on-site field representative for the design team. Typical responsibilities include on-site observation and inspection of as-built conditions for conformance with approved design documents and specifications, generating field notes and reports and coordinating Requests for Information (RFI) with office design teams. The Field Services Engineer elicits guidance and coordinates with office staff for non-conforming construction and acts as the liaison between office design staff and trade partners in the field.

The Field Services Engineer manages multiple project schedules to ensure timely observations and inspections within the client’s construction schedule. Additional responsibilities include; writing field notes, follow-up reports, standards coordination and project documentation and tracking. Typical project types include: Single and Multi-family housing, Town Homes, Apartments and Podium style buildings.

Qualifications
A successful candidate will have an Engineering or construction related degree or direct construction related field experience. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written). The candidate will possess a strong understanding of the construction practices associated with conventional and post-tension concrete foundations and wood framed construction. The candidate must be reliable, detail oriented and eager to learn. Upon successful completion of a one-month training program in our Sacramento office, candidate must be able to work independently with minimal oversight.

Travel is required and candidate must possess a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation and pass a background check. Project locations may be located in the following counties: Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, San Francisco and San Mateo.

Compensation
This is an exempt position and pays a competitive salary based on experience. Comprehensive benefit package includes: Paid Time Off, Health, Dental, Vision, FSA Accounts, Life and Disability, 401(k) plan with company match and travel expense reimbursement.

Annual Salary Range: $75,000.00 – $95,000.00
